Heather Wilkerson

Heather is the founder of Hope-Thru-Horses, established in 2006, and a pioneer in the field of equine-assisted therapy. A licensed clinical social worker with a profound respect for the human–animal bond, Heather has devoted her career to creating therapeutic experiences that integrate nature, animals, and emotional healing.

She is the co-owner of Parkton Place, a breathtaking 30-acre farmland sanctuary dedicated to connection, growth, and restoration. What began as a humble vision on a 2.5-acre farm has grown into a thriving healing space that now serves individuals, families, clinicians, and communities seeking deeper support and transformation.

Through her private mental health practice, Hope-Thru-Horses, Inc., Heather brings a compassionate, grounded, and innovative approach to therapy—one that honors the wisdom of animals, the rhythms of nature, and the innate capacity within each person to heal. Her work continues to inspire meaningful change, offering a safe and sacred space for people to reconnect with themselves and the world around them.
